At this time, Odyssey does not offer in-home visits. Odyssey clients are welcome to have family sessions in our facility with the agreement of their counselor.

Odyssey’s substance abuse program is available to clients who have a history of drug addiction (including inhalants, pills, injections, and all other forms of drug use) or drug and alcohol addiction.

Odyssey offers courses in anger management, pre-marital counseling, and substance abuse recovery.

We have a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner on staff at Odyssey. However, before clients can be scheduled with the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner the following criteria must be met:

  • The individual is a current Odyssey client
  • The client is seen by a counselor at Odyssey at least twice per month
  • A counselor at Odyssey refers to the client for a psychiatric evaluation

We accept children through adults, ages three and older.

Most counseling sessions are about an hour in length. Some with couples and substance abuse evaluations are scheduled for an hour and a half.

We require 48-hours' notice for all cancellations and reschedules.  If you fail to provide the 48-hour cancellation notice, your appointment will be marked as a "no show".  New clients who have two consecutive no-shows for their first appointment must wait 60 days before they can reschedule for a new appointment.

Odyssey is partnering with Fulton County Schools and preschools in and around the College Park area to offer school-based counseling. Ask your school if they are partnering with Odyssey and for further details.

Counselors are here to offer support and guidance during difficult times. A counselor will listen, offer a new perspective, and work with you to make changes that can make a big difference in your everyday life.

Experiences in counseling sessions will differ based on the counseling program and the personalities of the counselor and the client. Generally, the first counseling session can feel very structured, almost like an interview, because the counselor is learning a complete overview of your life. The counselor will ask a variety of basic and personal questions in order to more fully understand you as a person and your current situation.

After the first session, most counseling sessions will feel like having a private conversation, one that you know will stay confidential. The counselor is there to listen and offer guidance and support. Counseling sessions with young children tend to include a mixture of the counselor talking to the parent(s) and Play therapy with the child.

All information collected by Odyssey staff members is confidential and cannot be shared with anyone, with the following exceptions:

  • If you (the client) sign a release of information form for a specific person or facility
  • If you state you have an intention and plan to harm yourself or someone else
  • If you report ongoing abuse or endangerment of a child, elderly person, or a disabled person who is unable to defend himself/herself
  • If Odyssey receives a subpoena for the information
  • If the client is legally a minor, then Odyssey is allowed to disclose information to the client’s legal guardians
